George MacIntyre
Rocky Top, I’m Staying HomeAbout
I come from a big, proud Tennessee family and grew up around the game of football. My grandfather and namesake Coach George MacIntyre was a legendary coach at Vanderbilt. My uncle Mike is a longtime college football coach, and my dad Matt played at Western Kentucky. I spent a lot of time on the sidelines as a kid, watching and learning about the game along the way.
And while a few of the MacIntyre men closest to me went to school elsewhere, most of my family attended the University of Tennessee. In fact, I’m a third generation Vol and the 44th to head to Knoxville – I guess you could say it’s a family tradition.
I’ve lived in Nashville my whole life and have attended Brentwood Academy since sixth grade. I love the BA community and am grateful for having grown up an Eagle. Committing to Tennessee in front of my teammates, classmates, and coaches – my BA family – was a dream come true and is something I’ll never forget.
Football is my passion, but basketball was my first love and I still continue to play high school ball. For a while I thought I might play basketball in college, but there’s nothing that gets me more excited and motivated than being part of a football team and playing the quarterback position.
I’m grateful to my family for supporting my dream. I know I’ve kept my mom and dad very busy, whether it’s football, basketball, and traveling all around. Their support and love means everything to me. A special shout out to my sisters for enduring being a quarterback’s sibling. I know it isn’t easy sitting in the stands sometimes. I’m also thankful to Grancy and Gramps, who never miss a game.
I’m focused on finishing my high school career at BA the right way and couldn’t be more excited that the next chapter will be in Knoxville. It means a lot to have so many Vols fans reaching out and showing me love.
Thanks for visiting my website and being part of my journey.

Answer the Call
I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve received for my commitment and the response to my commitment video. To be a kid from Tennessee with a chance to rep my state is a dream come true. There’s no better fan base and no better place to play football than UT. It’s why I said “this isn’t a decision, it’s a calling. And Volunteers answer the call.”
I’m using this opportunity to answer the call and support UT student-athletes. All proceeds from the sale of my 'Answer the Call' gear benefits the Tennessee Fund, which helps fund all expenses associated with all of Tennessee’s intercollegiate sports – and helps make sure in-state kids stay home and play for UT.
